When the first militia regiments were founded on Lithinus, they were based in the Eastshine, a region considered by many to be poor in minerals and not worth the expenditure to develop properly. Further, the Eastshine was a region sufficiently far away from the settled areas, to keep the “undesirables” away from civilized and cultured peoples of the cities. The garrison region is one filled with grey barrack buildings, repair facilities for the trucks and tracked vehicles used by the Lethinus Planetary Defence Forces, supply depots and all the sundries needed to supply an army.
